A card I made...

So, I decided to make a card and enter a challenge. Inky Impressions are having a Spots and Stripes Challenge. I think I've only just scraped in at the last moment with it, and not sure I have enough spots, but tried to use what I had, and just get into the routine and trying to stick to a theme and 'have a go'.

I used an image I had stamped up already (unfortunately I can't remember whih one it is - it might be a 'Sugar Nellie'. Then I coloured her in with my Copic Ciao Markers (B00, G17, E00, R20, G00, E33, E35) as well as my 0.3 Copic Multiliner.

(By the way, sorry for the delay in posting photos over the last week.  I have misplaced my camera (it will be somewhere around the house, I'm sure!) and only just thought of using my other camera to take a photo of some of the cards I've been doing.  Be gentle - I've only just started out!!)

A bit late...but dinner for tonight!

Here's a photo of dinner cooking for tonight.  Roast chicken in the slow cooker.  Haven't done it before, so we'll see how it turns out.  

I have no idea where my camera is (was in the car yesterday, so I think it may be where it STILL is) so sorry for the photo, taken with my mobile!

Cupcake Anya

Okay, so it's been a while since I made a card, let alone did any colouring.  It's now Tuesday afternoon, I'm feeling VERY average, and I've just finished colouring an image by The Greeting Farm, Cupcake Anya under the orders of Sammi (lol) - well, I said I couldn't decide which image to colour, told her which ones I had, and she sent me off to colour Cupcake Anya, while she coloured Pirate Luka. 

So, you'll have to excuse the very average photos...I'm not very good at getting the light right when I need to.  Basically to explain, I've shown the images I printed out, the image I coloured, my Copics, and the completed product.  If I get it on a card, I'll post that up too, eventually :)

 

Hypo

Thought I'd share (cos I know you're ALL so interested), my recent blood sugar level.

It's quite scary being that low and being uncontrollably shaky. I've had some honey, because we had no jellybeans or coke in the house, or fruit juice either.  And, given it's bed time and I have to last till morning, Dan made me have a bowl of weetbix, because of the carbs, and also the mix is a bit of a sugar fix too.

So, now, I'm feeling headachey, but I can go to bed, content in the knowledge that I've posted today's photo.  :)

I love my Nanna

One thing I do have to say is...I love my Nanna.  I've always loved my Nanna and Pop, because they've done so much to look after me in my life and I feel sad when I visit Nanna, because she is always just in her bed, sitting there, doing nothing, with no one to really interact with.  It's sad because it's a shadow of the woman she once was - and I miss that, but it's given me great memories. 

She will be 94 this year in July, and I hadn't had a photo taken of her or with her since her 90th birthday.  I took the camera along with me today in case she was in favour of a photo - and I'm so glad!  Love her to bits!!

An early morning photo

This photo was taken early this morning just before Danny went to the gym - not quite sunrise, but the colours in the sky are nice.  Need to get up a little earlier to capture the colours properly.

Chocolate anyone??

You wouldn't believe how much chocolate we have in our fridge.  I don't have a sweet tooth really, but hubby does.  If it's not nailed down, he'll eat it - which says something about how much we do still have, given he has eaten a lot of it!  

I'm diabetic...I'm not supposed to have chocolate (so, there is also some sugar free chocolate there).  The chocolate post is here, because I had a nightmare last night about my inlaws taking everyone out for churros except for me.  I was devastated!  There's lots more to the dream (a story for another time), but she wouldn't let me eat chocolate, or Bec eat figs (don't know if you like figs, Bec, but there you go.

Happy 30th Birthday to my wonderful brother in law, Jono - can't believe he'll be a father in a few weeks.  Looking forward to meeting Duke VERY soon!!

A delayed post...with a few pictures

Well, last week was very hot!  So hot, our modem decided to have a bit of a meltdown and the net wasn't working.  I could access facebook on my phone, but I didn't know how to access the blog and upload photos.  I could do a whole lot of posts with all my photos that I took, or...considering most of them have the same theme, I could post them here in this post.

We got a Bunnings voucher from Oma for Christmas, and have started planting some fruit, vegetables and herbs.  Some, the birds are getting to before we get to, some are growing, some look a bit dried out from the sun, but here's a bit of progress so far.

What a poser!

I thought I'd introduce you to my beautiful pet cockatiels.  We've had a couple over the last 7 years.  I went out to take a photo of Sunny and Albi.  I put Albi on my finger, where she best responds, and took a photo.  

Then, I went to take a photo of Sunny and she actually POSED for the camera.  She went and hid behind the ladder to begin with, and then when I told her to come out, she moved a few inches towards me and stared me down and put her head up towards the camera.  We have had her for about 12 months and though at times she is a huge pest, we love her to bits and wouldn't have her any other way.  She squawks all the time.  If she happens to be out of the cage and I am eating, she will literally fly across the room to try and take food from my hand, whatever it is.  She loves eating our vegie scraps, particularly corn cobs and makes such a mess!!  She played tug-of-war with the snow peas this morning, lol!!

They are great company - although I have to keep Sunny entertained so that she stops pecking Albi's head feathers out!!

A new year, a new diary!

Okay, so I know it's not the best photo, but I wanted to get started on this blog.  It's proof that I DO indeed have a diary this year and I DO intend to use it. 

I used to be very good with dates, however, now I'm pretty hopeless with them, and co-ordinating dates and appointments is just about futile.  So, we BOTH have diaries this year, to keep track of appointments, birthdays and special dates.  Hopefully it will actually work..let's see!!

Let's see how I go!

It's funny when I think about the various blogs I've had in the past, and that I've tried to take a 'photo a day' before.  My lovely sister in law, Bec, has encouraged me to do this blog, because she's been doing it with others she knows, so I'll start on the 1st February, after I find out from her exactly what to do.  Watch this space x
